Project

Reorientation of the Winterthur sports project

The starting position is known: The availability of suitable large-capacity halls in Winterthur is a much discussed problem. In particular, the city's sporting figureheads, the top handball club Pfadi Winterthur and the top floorball club HC Rychenberg, lack a genuine domestic ball sports arena with national and international appeal.

With its orientation, the project sets important signs for the sports city of Winterthur and beyond its borders. The local top sports clubs will be able to reposition themselves thanks to a modern sports arena and extensive use of the mantle, while mass sports will benefit in particular from the expanded range of halls. The support provided by the city through a building lease agreement is therefore a clear commitment to strengthening local innovation, urban development and thus to promoting Winterthur as a business location. A further positive effect of the project is the numerous additional jobs that will be created. WIN4 will significantly enhance the existing Deutweg Sports Park and its overall potential uses.

"WIN4" not only creates professional structures for competitive and popular sports, but is also intended to become a meeting place for sports, business, politics, culture and society.
